Second place at the Mason AI Day poster competition
I was honored to place second in the poster competition at Mason AI Day, where I shared our VR and AI–integrated firefighter training system—work carried out in collaboration with the Fairfax Fire Department.
About the poster
The poster highlighted how we combine virtual reality with AI-driven guidance and analytics to support command-level firefighter training—bridging immersive simulation with feedback that would be difficult to replicate in traditional drills. Showcasing this work alongside peers from across the university was a great chance to connect immersive computing research with the priorities of public safety partners.
Mason AI Day convenes the GMU community around advances in artificial intelligence and its applications; placing in the competition reflected the strong interdisciplinary interest in responsible, impactful uses of AI in the field.
